From Scoliosis Patient...

Katie Edkins

Katie EdkinsEighteen months ago, my daughter Katie was diagnosed with a mild case of scoliosis -- 4% curvature. Six months later, it had progressed to a 12% curvature. We were concerned, but the doctors advised a "wait and see" approach. While waiting and seeing, Katie began complaining of increasing pain in her back, which seemed directly linked to the scoliosis. Her discomfort became significant, and I discussed her situation with Dr. Donatello during one of my visits. His response was conservative. While he wouldn't say that he could reverse the curvature process, he felt strongly that he could help relieve the discomfort she was experiencing.

Katie began seeing Dr.Donatello three times a week in April 2003. Gradually, she began to feel some relief. By summer, she was much improved.

In August, she was again x-rayed. Prior to learning the results, our anxiety was high. Scoliosis runs in our family, and one cousin has had to wear a back brace. When the results came, we whooped with collective joy. Not only had there been no additional curvature, but it had actually reversed. From 12% in March, it was down to 3%. Although I can't state with certainty that Dr. Donatello was responsible for the improvement, I am certain that his care has been extremely beneficial to Katie. Today, she is virtually painfree, and pursues a variety of sports with enthusiasm. Thank you, Dr. Donatello, for your involvement in Katie's care.

Upper Back and Neck Pain Patient...

Lysa James

Lysa JamesI have been seeing Jeff Donatello for three or four years. I go on a monthly basis to keep my spine in good health rather than waiting until I have a serious problem. I have had some issues with my neck but my visits with Dr. Donatello have kept the problems to a minimum. I know the monthly visits work, because upon occasion when I have gotten too busy, I have missed a few visits and invariably paid the price -- pain in my neck and upper back that could have been prevented, had I kept my appointment!

Chronic Ear Infections / Headaches & Shoulder Pain Patient...

Tasker Family

I would like to take a few moments of your time and tell you what chiropractic care has done for my family.

I have two daughters, Jensen and Jessica. The eldest, Jensen, had chronic ear infections from the time she was five months old until she was 1 year. Her pediatrician was suggesting the "wait and see" attitude but that she "would probably need tubes in her ears sooner." My husband and I didn't really want to consider this option and decided to wait until it was cold season. When cold season returned she had an ear infection that ruptured her ear drum. The doctor now said we definitely needed tubes in her ears. A friend suggested that we take her to York Chiropractic. Jeff and I decided that we would try this route before tubes. It worked! Jensen passed her second winter with one cold and one sinus infection but no ear infections! We credit Chiropractic care with keeping her from having to have tubes in her ears. To this day Jensen is a healthy 10 1/2 year old who does gymnastics and has no problems with her ears. She continues to be adjusted one time per month as it helps her with her gymnastics.

TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) Patient...

Lauren Edkins

Last year, I began experiencing severe discomfort in my jaw. When I opened my mouth, my jaw popped, and it progressed quickly from being an irritation to a source of considerable pain. I made an appointment with our dentist for an evaluation. He x-rayed my mouth, and confirmed my suspicion. I had developed TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder.) Treatment options were limited. Either I could do nothing (and have the pain continue to increase), endure surgery (expensive and with uncertain outcome), wear an appliance (not an appealing alternative under any circumstance), or I could see a chiroprator. This last option was a little mysterious, since I had never before visited a chiropractor, but it seemed an obvious first step.

Lauren EdkinsThey referred me to Dr. Donatello, who I was told had successfully treated a number of TMJ patients. On my first visit, he did a careful evaluation of my situation, and felt certain that he could have a positive impact on my condition. The treatments began. After the first adjustment, the pain was considerably reduced. Within several weeks, it had disappeared, and almost one year later, it has not returned. My jaw continues to "pop" at times, but it is painfree. I feel fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Donatello.

Neck and Back Strain Patient...

Ronald Gehrmann

Because my work involves sitting at a computer all day -- and because I don’t get nearly enough exercise -- I’m a prime candidate for neck and back strain. Before seeing Dr. Donatello, I often suffered from painful knots in my middle back that would last for days. The tightness in my back would then spread up the side of my neck, greatly reducing my ability to turn my head from side to side. I still remember the amazement I felt driving home after my first appointments with Jeff -- how I was Ronald Gehrmannsuddenly free of pain and had much better mobility in my neck. Thanks to regular monthly visits with Jeff, I have much less back pain than I did before, and when it does occur, a session with Jeff makes it quickly fade away again.

Car Accident Patient...

Rebecca Murphy

I had been visiting Dr. Jeff for about five years. He has a habit of giving me interesting bits of information so it was not surprising when, after an adjustment, he handed me a pamphlet titled, "What to do if you are involved in a car accident."

As fate would have it, the following week I was driving home late one night when BOOM, my little Volkswagen and I were slammed into by another car. Rebecca MurphyUpon waking the next morning, my body and neck were sore and aching. I immediately called Dr. Jeff the next day. He evaluated my injury and began the process to get me back to "normal". It took over a month for the pain to totally disappear but Jeff was a wonderful advisor during this whole time.

What I learned from this experience is there are people out there you can trust and who will go beyond what their normal jobs entail. Just be wary of chiropractors giving out free pamphlets!
